Iran, Uzbekistan to Train Police Dogs

TASHKENT -- A delegation of searching experts, representing Iran's police and anti-drugs campaign headquarters, and their Uzbek counterparts have discussed ways of Iran-Uzbekistan cooperation in training sniffer dogs.

Head of the delegation, Saeed Malekan, told IRNA here on Friday that his delegation had during its week-long stay in Uzbekistan inspected the detector dog training centers as well as drug investigation labs.

Malekan said that the Iranian and Uzbek parties had in their talks also surveyed exchange of information, cooperation in tracker dogs training and transfer of veterinary services to the Uzbeks by Iranians.

He said the two sides had also reached agreement on organization of training courses for Iranian police dog experts in Uzbekistan.

The four-man Iranian delegation's visit to Uzbekistan follows spring visit of the head of Iran's drugs campaign headquarters to Uzbekistan and in a bid to follow provisions of the agreements already reached between the two parties.
